Construction Agreements and Contractor Contracts.
At what point is a handshake not enough? People are often tempted to hope for the best when presented with a contract. This is not always a wise business decision. It is in each party’s interest that the construction agreement is clear. It should include a description of scope of the job, how the labor and materials are priced, adjustments to plans or materials, warranty obligations and how payments are made to the contractor. Additionally, access issues, insurance, liability, and security should also be addressed. I have prepared a variety of construction agreements for projects that have gone well and advised clients on a variety of mechanic’s lien issues, when the work did not go according to plan. I offer practical advice and an agreement you can be comfortable signing. I can also help you with your notice requirements and lien waiver form.
